How to Care for Your Terrarium
Terrariums are one of the easiest and most beautiful ways to bring greenery into your home. Whether you’re new to indoor plants or already obsessed with all things leafy, terrariums create a calming little ecosystem that adds life to any space.
At Leafy Lovers, we love terrariums because they’re low-maintenance, stylish, and perfect for gifting. With just a little care, your terrarium can thrive for years.
Light Requirements
Terrariums love bright, indirect light. Place your terrarium near a window where it can receive filtered sunlight throughout the day. Avoid direct harsh afternoon sun, as the glass can magnify heat and damage the plants inside.
Watering Your Terrarium
One of the most common terrarium mistakes is overwatering.
Closed terrariums usually only need watering every few months because they naturally recycle moisture inside the container.
Open terrariums will need light watering, especially during warmer months.
Signs your terrarium may need water include:
• Dry soil
• No condensation at all
• Slightly droopy plants
Humidity & Airflow
Healthy terrariums should have light condensation in the morning and clearer glass later in the day. If your terrarium has heavy condensation all day, simply remove the lid for a few hours to allow airflow.
Pruning & Maintenance
Trim any dead leaves or overgrown plants occasionally to keep your terrarium healthy and looking beautiful.
Why We Love Terrariums
Terrariums are calming, decorative, and make thoughtful gifts for birthdays, housewarmings, Mother’s Day and special occasions.
At Leafy Lovers, every terrarium is created with care to bring a little living beauty into your home.
